Cross-Selection Based Evolution Strategies

چکیده
A search for an optimal value of a complex multi-dimensional continuous function is still one the most pressing problems. The genetic algorithms (GA) and evolution strategies (ES) are methods to solving optimization problems that based on natural selection, process drives biological evolution. Our goal was use evolutionary find global (minimum) non-smooth with large number local minimums. We took several test functions different levels complexity used solve problem. standard strategies, which work well smooth functions, gave us various points minimums as solution, without finding minimum, function. In our work, we propose new approach: cross-selection method, which, in combination previously developed - adaptive good result searth minimum

Evolution Strategies and Threshold Selection
A hybrid approach that combines the (1+1)-ES and threshold selection methods is developed. The framework of the new experimentalism is used to perform a detailed statistical analysis of the effects that are caused by this hybridization. Experimental results on the sphere function indicate that hybridization worsens the performance of the evolution strategy, because evolution strategies are well...
متن کاملContinuous Selection and Self-Adaptive Evolution Strategies
The intention of this work is to eliminate the need for a synchronous generation scheme in the (μ +, λ) evolution strategy. It is motivated by the need for a more practical implementation of selection strategies on parallel machine architectures. This strategy is known as continuous or steady state selection. Continuous selection is known to reduce significantly the number of function evaluatio...
متن کاملMirrored Sampling and Sequential Selection for Evolution Strategies
This paper reveals the surprising result that a single-parent non-elitist evolution strategy (ES) can be locally faster than the (1+1)-ES. The result is brought by mirrored sampling and sequential selection. With mirrored sampling, two offspring are generated symmetrically or mirrored with respect to their parent. In sequential selection, the offspring are evaluated sequentially and the iterati...
متن کاملSex-Differential Selection and the Evolution of X Inactivation Strategies
X inactivation--the transcriptional silencing of one X chromosome copy per female somatic cell--is universal among therian mammals, yet the choice of which X to silence exhibits considerable variation among species. X inactivation strategies can range from strict paternally inherited X inactivation (PXI), which renders females haploid for all maternally inherited alleles, to unbiased random X i...
